sponsored by They Draw and Cook and the US Dry
Bean Council. It was one of the four
(out of 340) winning illustrations and was
awarded a cash prize. The illustration
highlights my family's tradition of gathering
on New Year's Day to prepare and eat
black eyed peas and other foods that are
believed to bring good fortune for the year.
