“Evelyn” by Erika Lynne Jones
Meet Evelyn. She is the third fictional character in my work in progress book on organic baby care. She works full time as a chemist in the cosmetics industry and commutes an hour each way by train. She has always loved her job and both of her cities, but now that she has adopted a baby, she is searching for a way to make more time to care for her six month old daughter who is the new love of her life.
Those are just a few of the details I imagined about Evelyn before creating her. I started with a rough sketch and then transferred it to mixed media paper once I liked her. The color scheme is the same as her counterparts, Gabrielle and Nancy. I noticed it came through softer on Evelyn and Nancy. I think its because she has a softer personality then some of the other characters. I’m having fun finding explanations for my random thoughts. Can you tell?
